Kayla Cox is a Northeast Georgia native who ran off to Camp Pendleton, California, at the tender age of 19 to marry her college sweetheart turned United States Marine, J.R. A few years and three kids later, they hit the road in a Class-C RV and visited 37 states. It was on this adventure that she finally penned “The Laid Back Guide to Intermittent Fasting.” After two years of full-time traveling, she and her family settled back down in beautiful Central Florida and have made a home amongst the abundant palm trees, a small flock of backyard chickens, a gerbil named Pippin, a python named Monty, and many uninvited house geckos.
When Kayla’s not hammering away on her next novel with a cup of coffee in hand, or chiseling away on a piece of wood, you’ll most likely find her curled up with a good book. She is also the creator of Six Miles to Supper, a YouTube channel with over 64,000 subscribers and 7.8 million views, where she shares her experience of losing 80 pounds with intermittent fasting and walking six miles a day and endeavoring to keep it off for the rest of her life.
She has a yearly goal to read a book a week on average. To see her progress and which books she’s currently reading, check out her goodreads page.
